About Us

American Society of Civil Engineers Space Coast Branch

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide and is America’s oldest national engineering society.

 

Our ASCE Space Coast Branch brings together nearly 300 members from Florida’s Brevard and Indian River counties, including engineering interns, principal engineers, company presidents and owners, professors, retired engineers and every type of civil engineering professional in between. Our members represent over 75 engineering companies across the Space Coast, the nation and even the globe.

Branch Goals

Member Engagement

Encourage active participation in club activities through regular events and interactive sessions. To attract new members, host open houses and leverage social media. Implement measures to keep current members engaged, including regular updates and exciting incentives. Monitor participation and engagement levels through surveys and attendance records to continuously improve efforts.

Organizational Structure

Ensure a strong and effective leadership by assigning specific roles to each board member and promoting accountability. Engage non-board members in club activities, highlighting the value of their involvement and promoting ASCE resources. Foster enthusiasm for membership through testimonials and success stories. Regularly review and update the website to keep it user-friendly and informative.

Digital Outreach

Enhance presence on social media to better engage with the community by posting regularly and interacting with followers. Regularly update the website with news, events, and resources to keep it relevant and informative. Distribute a periodic newsletter to keep everyone informed and engaged with the latest updates and opportunities.

Professional Development

Provide opportunities for professional development hours (PDHs) to help members meet licensure requirements. Organize resume workshops for students to help them improve their resumes and prepare for the job market.

Student Engagement

Increase student participation in initiatives by creating student-focused programs and events. Organize fundraising events to support activities and projects, ensuring necessary resources for success.
